How to Make a Sword With Instant Messenger
- 1). Click the "Start" button or orb on the bottom-left corner of your screen. Type the name of your instant messaging program in the text box at the bottom and press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. (For example: AIM, ICQ, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger).
- 2). Sign into your instant messaging system using your user ID and password. Click the "Sign In" button.
- 3). Visit Ascii World's swords and blades webpage. (See Resources)
- 4). Scroll the page down and look for a sword you wish to send via instant messenger. When you find one, click to the very top-left of the light blue background, and move your mouse cursor in a downward position to highlight the entire sword. Right-click the picture, and click "Copy."
- 5). Click the "Start" button or orb in the lower-left corner of your screen, and type "notepad" into the blank text box at the bottom. Press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. The notepad program will launch.
- 6). Click anywhere in notepad, and right-click and click "Paste." This will paste your sword into the program. You must complete this step to ensure the correct formatting of the art. If you simply copy an image from Ascii World and paste it into an instant messaging program, it will not work properly.
- 7). Click at the very beginning of your sword, and drag through it until all of it is highlighted. Right-click anywhere on the image, and click "Copy."
- 8). Double-click on any of your instant messaging contacts to open a new message. Hold down the "Shift" key on your keyboard, and press the "Enter" button to insert a blank line. Right-click in the instant messaging text box, and click "Paste." Click the "Send" button, or press enter on your keyboard.
