Unemployed Writer Discovers "Secret Formula" For Making Money Blogging During the Economic

While workers are being laid off and major corporations are going out of business during the current economic crisis, a 62-year-old man in Canada says he can teach anyone how to earn a steady income on the Internet, as long as they have a home computer and basic literacy skills.
A part-time travel writer living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Robert Scheer joked that his income from writing travel articles for local newspapers was enough to pay for the cost of his film and processing, as long as he was using a digital camera (which does not use any film and the processing cost is zero).
But it is not just Mr.
Scheer who is feeling the pinch as traditional markets for buying freelance articles are tightening their belts.
Major daily newspapers and magazines that once paid hundreds or thousands of dollars for feature articles are either slashing their budgets for editorial content or going out of business.
A February, 2009 Seattle Times newspaper article titled "Newspapers In Survival Mode" stated that The Seattle Post Intelligencer and Rocky Mountain News are for sale and will probably close.
The Chicago Tribune and Minneapolis Star Tribune are facing bankruptcy.
This means freelancers who once made their living writing feature stories about travel, food, entertainment, fashion, health, music, sports and other popular topics to these publications are finding themselves scrambling to find new sources of income.
According to Mr.
Scheer, these freelance writers, and anyone else with an interest in setting up a home based business, can learn how to make money by setting up a special kind of website.
Fortunately, he says, they may seem complicated to create, but there is a way to automate the process that makes it so simple almost anyone can do it quickly.
He discovered he could set up a website that paid him $5 to $10 per day, or about $225 per month.
Then it hit him.
Why not set up 10 or 20 of these websites and start earning a steady income of $2,250 to $4,500 per month? "It is as easy as pie to set up one of these websites," Scheer said.
"They're built using WordPress software, which you can download free.
The tricky parts are writing enough interesting content and getting large numbers of visitors necessary to earn money.
" When pressed to reveal his secret formula, Scheer said the key is to get free backlinks to your blogs from other websites.
This can be done by posting articles on free directories such as ezineartricles.
com, using social networking sites like Facebook, setting up free blogs on blogger.
com, uploading videos to YouTube and entering messages on online forums.
But the best method is posting comments on other blogs with topics similar to your own.
How does Mr.
Scheer write enough content to serve 20 or more different blogs on a regular basis? He has most of the writing outsourced by professional writers.
Unlike some low-priced articles written offshore, these blog posts are written by masters in the English language.
When purchased in quantities of 250 at a time, the pricing works out to less than seven cents each.
Amazingly, this source also pre-writes comments for posting onto other blogs.
This automates the otherwise tedious process of getting valuable backlinks necessary to attract large numbers of visitors.
Mr.
Scheer also teaches how to select successful niches for blogs, and how to monetize them in order to earn a steady income.
