Need for Hindu Nationalism in India

Hinduism, the term is much known across the world.
Many people regard Hinduism as the mother of all religions.
In this article, we will discuss about the challenges faced by Hindus, especially in the land of their origin, i.
e.
India.
The setup of the Hindu society is such that, it is very vulnerable to threats from other religions.
As a Hindu, you are taught tolerance from the very first day and you are taught that everything around you is a manifestation of supreme power, which many of us call God.
So, according to that, every faith from Islam to Christianity and from Shinto to any other indigenous faith is a part of Hinduism.
So this principle is responsible for the condition of Hindus in India.
We have welcomed foreign invaders, we have given refuge to refugees and now we are in the line of fire ourselves.
We were the ones who had sheltered Jews in South India who were driven out of their motherland; we were the ones who had given refuge of Zoroastrians when they were kicked out by the Muslims from Iran.
For almost a significant part of the middle Ages, a Hindu majority India was ruled by Muslim rulers.
But, when after Independence, the time came for the Hindu majority to rule, the Muslims could not accept the fact.
Moreover, in present day India, the lightest display of Hindu nationalism is interpreted as deviation from the lines of Secularism, a principle that forms the base of our constitution.
The condition of India is such that, Hindus have been sidelined as second class citizens in their own land despite their strong efforts to win back religious dominance.
A part of the Hindu society is also responsible for the problem.
A large majority of Hindus label themselves as non-believers and feel proud of that.
As a Hindu, I feel that it's not mandatory that you believe in God.
But, you should at least be proud of your own identity and should fight for the rights of your religion.
Because of being a minority, Muslim votes are much more organised and they take advantage of this situation.
Many of them do whatever they like and our governments and political parties can't take actions against them as they are frightened of losing their vote banks.
One group that is currently fighting for the rights of Hindus in their own homeland is the Rashtriya Swayasevak Sangh or the RSS.
But, the main onus rests upon us, the Hindus to fight for our cause, to realise the value of our ancient culture and to stand up against invasions of any other foreign religions.
