- 1). Click on "System -> Preferences -> Remote Desktop" in the desktop tool bar. The Remote Desktop Preferences window will open.
- 2). Click the check box next to "Allow other users to view your desktop" to allow the connection.
- 3). Click the check box next to "You must confirm each access to this machine" to disable this option unless you want to physically accept the connection from the Ubuntu computer. If this is checked, you will not be able to remotely access the computer if there is no one available to accept the connection.
- 4). Click the check box next to "Require the user to enter this password" option to enable it. Type the password you want to use in the text box.
- 5). Click the "Configure network automatically to accept connections" if you want to be able to access the computer over the Internet. If this is not enabled, you will only be able to access the desktop through the local network.
- 6). Click the "Close" button to save the changes.
- 7). Test the settings by typing the IP address of the Ubuntu computer in any VNC viewer.
