How to Mix on CD Decks
- 1). Connect the CD decks to your mixer by inserting one end of each color-coded RCA cable into the corresponding audio output ports on your CD turntables. Connect the other ends of the RCA cables into the audio input ports on your mixer.
- 2). Connect your headphones by inserting the headphone plug into the corresponding jack on the mixer.
- 3). Cue the audio in both decks. Play each CD deck until their audio is set to playback as desired. Play both decks simultaneously.
- 4). Slide the mixer's crossfader handle toward one CD deck. Monitor the other CD deck's audio as it is playing into your headphones, but not outwardly to your speakers.
- 5). Adjust the pitch and speed of the CD deck whose audio you are monitoring, but not playing outwardly if you are using a deck with the capability. Slide the pitch adjust lever up and down to increase and decrease the speed of the CD deck until both audio sources match in time.
- 6). Slide the crossfader handle completely toward the CD deck whose audio you are monitoring. Slide the crossfader quickly for a sudden change in the audio output. Slide the crossfader handle slowly to execute a blend as the audio from the previous CD deck fades out gradually.
