How to Treat Stinky Smelly Feet
- 1). Since smelly feet can be caused by bacteria being trapped in sweaty socks or shoes try buying socks that are made of 100% cotton, wool or all natural fibers. Natural fibers allow the material to breathe thereby lessening the chance of your feet getting sweaty and trapping the moisture.
Shoes can also be a problem so try to buy all leather shoes. Man made materials won't keep your feet from sweating. - 2). Use baking soda in your shoes and sneakers. Try to alternate the pairs of shoes you wear on a daily basis and not wear the same pair for days in a row.
Have 2 pairs of sneakers so that you can alternate wearing them. Sneakers can get damp when you wear them for long periods of time (especially walking or jogging or exercising)so being able to alternate them will allow the damp pair to thoroughly dry out before you wear them again.
The same goes for work boots. Try to have 2 pairs so you can alternate them. - 3). Washing your stinky smelly feet with an acne type soap will help with the odor. Acne soaps contain anti-bacteria ingredients so they will be good in fighting the toxins that cause your smelly feet.
- 4). Another method for stinky smelly feet is to use an antiperspirant roll on type deodorant. Take the roll on antiperspirant and roll it over the tops and bottoms of your feet. Since an antiperspirant contains aluminum chloride hexahydrate it will keep odor under control and wetness to a minimum. Make sure you are using an antiperspirant as regular deodorant will only control odor but not eliminate the wetness. A roll on works better than a spray since sprays tend more to wind up in the air than on your feet.
- 5). A natural home remedy for those stinky smelly feet is tea bags. Take about 8 tea bags and put them in a pot of boiling water and steep. Let cool and then pour into a foot basin (or pot big enough to fit your feet)and soak your feet for 30 minutes. Do this every day for about a week and your feet should be odor free. The tannic acid in the tea bags is what will prevent the foot odor.
