Who Puts the Food in Your Mouth? That is the Question
I might still not understand all about the food I eat, but I am studying more and more.
I know that salt has a lot to do with water retention, and I know that there are differences between good and bad cholesterol.
I read everyday about health and food products.
I think that I should because, it is my body and if I don't take care of it, who will? Your primary goal is still to get to your ideal BMI as soon as possible in the healthiest way possible.
My wife's weight is at 125 lbs.
That is her ideal weight and now she is working on making sure she eats enough to maintain that ideal BMI.
You should see what she looks like wow, I am so proud.
Getting to ideal BMI is the first part and now, she continues her work on learning how to live with all she has done.
What a joy to work on something when you feel 100% better for maybe the first time in 20, 30 years or more.
She feels like a kid again.
All countries have shortages of medical personnel today.
Having your family doctor is a privilege when it should be a right.
The cost of staying healthy is growing everyday.
Incredible that I say things like this.
I fought all my life to give the best to the next generation! Your doctor has little time to hear you out, because his office is on overload everyday.
He needs our help even if we are not in the medical field.
In wartime our grandparents contributed as best as they could.
Now the world has to understand that this is a war type of problem and it needs all the help it can get.
The subject at hand is having 100% control of what goes into our mouths.
This behavior is learned and from the moment we reached some wisdom, we have been in total control of what goes into our mouths.
In all my research I found that their was only two very distinct types of individuals when it comes to eating.
Those that eat little to very little are the first.
Then there are those that eat a lot all the way up to those that are gluttons.
Most of the ones that eat a little, either have tremendous self control, or, were disciplined from an early age.
Some of these are better educated and there concept of eating has more to do with nutrition and that sort of stuff.
Blah.
Blah.
Blah.
I am not part of that group.
My wife is part of that group and her ability to focus showed me that she can turn the switch to ON or OFF when it comes to eating.
We all know people like this that are self starters, if you wish.
But, you know what, they are fairly easy to manipulate and that is why the proportion of people overweight is spread out between both groups.
My wife had a lot of weight to lose to get to ideal BMI but her focus was tremendous.
Those of us in group two love our food and beware to anyone that tries to take that away.
Both groups have something in common, we all have 100 % control of what goes into our mouths.
One thing I found that separates the two groups was that the first group, thinks about where the food goes as it leaves the mouth, while group two doesn't seem to know or care about where it goes.
The point I am trying to make today to all is that, if we can identify into what group we belong, we have much of the battle won.
The problem with all the experts is they never know what type is in front of them and how to identify them.
Has your doctor ever asked you which group you are in? When he asks if you are eating well, what is your answer? With over 60% of the population overweight, doctors tell you to be careful and eat better.
Can he identify what eating better means for you? They all have the same speech and we all sit back and say, yes, yes, and knowing full well that we will not observe much of what he says.
At the next visit it starts all over again.
Maybe there should be a scale as you walk into the doctors office and everyone will go through the weight scan and your doctor gets the picture as you walk into his office.
Think of your family and start learning what group they fall into, then you can talk about a strategy to help each person.
Many diet programs assume that they have the solution to help all people and tell you that everyone must be on this or that plan.
I wish it were that simple.
If you can identify in which group the individual is in then you are on your way.
I want to give you an example of what I mean.
If you are in group 2 you love to eat because you love to eat.
Taste is everything to you.
A plate needs to be full and big size portions are great, right? I understand, I feel that way also.
Let me tell you that if I could evaluate how many calories are in that plate of great tasting food well lets approximate, maybe 1500 calories, I then need to establish if the volume is enough to make you happy.
How long it takes your appetite away for is not important, as long as your are full when you are finished, right? And if you are not full yet, lets pile on some more, no problem, I want to make sure you are full, OK? What if I replace that 1500 calories with 500 calories of food that you will love and want as much as the food you are eating now? Are you listening, because that is exactly what I do.
Nutritional value is not important either in this experiment because group 2 loves their food, I do mean are in love with their food.
Take that away and you guarantee that your weight loss, lifestyle change, diet, nutritional evaluation, exercise program, stomach stapling, stomach reduction program, name anything you want, all will fail.
If you take away love and do not replace it by a greater love and prove it to me, you are cooked.
Sorry but that is the simple truth.
The most important objective is to find a greater love in my food than what I am eating now.
I did find it and I make sure that the food I eat, meets a high standard.
How can I ever go back to what I was eating before if what I eat now taste's as good or better than what I ate before? Now that is a solution!
