- 1). Connect the Ethernet cable from the computer to one of the four LAN ports on the back of the Belkin Wireless G Plus router.
- 2). Open a web browser and type in "192.168.2.1" in the address bar, then press enter.
- 3). Click "Login" in the upper right corner of the router utility, then click submit with the password space blank. The router does not have a default password.
- 4). Select "Channel and SSID" from the left menu, then enter a network name in the box next to SSID. Click on "Apply Changes."
- 5). Click on "Security" in the left menu, then select your desired security setting and password. For 64-bit WEP, you need to enter a 10-character password using number 0-9 or letters A-F in any combination. For 128-bit WEB, you need to enter a 20-character password using the same restrictions. Click "Apply Changes," then turn off the router.
- 6). Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the computer and LAN port on the router, then connect it from the WAN port on the router to the Internet modem.
- 7). Connect the modem cable from the wall jack to the Internet modem. If you are using DSL, this is a phone line. For cable and fiber optics, this is a coaxial cable. For fiber optics, you may have to connect to a hardwired device rather than to a wall jack.
- 8). Turn on the modem, then wait a minute before turning on the router.
- 9). Open the Windows Wireless Configuration Utility. You can do this by clicking "Start," > "Connect To," > "Wireless Network Connection." Alternatively, you can click on the wireless icon in your system tray located in the bottom right-hand corner of the desktop. The wireless icon looks like a computer with growing arcs coming out of it (like a signal).

Double-click on your network, which can be identified by the SSID. When prompted, enter the security password. The computer will connect. Any other devices will need to enter the security password in order to connect.
