    • 1). Close the door firmly and latch it closed. This must be done for the dishwasher to start.

    • 2). Look at your breaker or fuse box if your dishwasher has no power. You may need to reset a breaker or replace a fuse.

    • 3). Use the cycle knob to select a wash cycle. A cycle must be selected for the dishwasher to start.

    • 4). Push down the overfill protection float if the dishwasher will not fill. Pushing it down releases it.

    • 5). Change detergents if you are experiencing lumpy detergent remains after the cycle has completed or if there is excess foam. Also change detergents if there is food left on the dishes after a cycle completes.

    • 6). Put in less detergent per load if there is white residue left when the cycle completes.

    • 7). Run a rinse cycle every two days if you are experiencing odors in the dishwasher. For a new plastic smell, run a cycle with 2 cups of vinegar in the container in the bottom rack. The vinegar rinse also works to remove spotting, if you are having that problem with the dishwasher.

    • 8). Use a liquid rinse aid if your dishes have a milky or cloudy film when the cycle completes.

    • 9). Add in around 2 tbsp. of citric acid crystals to your cycle if you have brown stains on the dishes after a cycle.
