Bollywood Mourns Vivek Shauqs Demise

From TV serials to TV commercials, from Hindi films to Punjabi films, Vivek Shauq has served the world of entertainment for many years down the line until he suffered a severe cardiac arrest on the 10th of January, thus resulting in the death of this infamous comedian. The theatre, television and film actor who passed away in Mumbai on Monday was only 47.

For those who didnt know much about this entertainer, Vivek Shauq was a class act. Apart from being a comedian, he was also a noted writer and singer. He had keen faith in spirituality as Vivek was a part of Sant Nirankari Mission.

Born in Chandigarh, Vivek Shauq started his career with Jaspal Bhatti in Ulta Pulta and Flop Show which used to be aired on Doordarshan. Soon he was also one of the founder-members of the Nonsense Club headed by Jaspal Bhatti. His sense of humor, his ease with a role of any genre and minimalism will forever be memorized and characterized by his friends, both on and off screen. His nonchalant way of portraying the characters would always be remembered and cherished by the Bollywood film fraternity.

When it comes to Bollywood, no ones unfamiliar with the name Vivek Shauq. He has worked in many films throughout his career in Bollywood, mainly portraying comic roles. Starring from Barsaat Ki Raat in 1998 to Hello Darling in 2010, Vivek has served Bollywood for over 12 years. But out of all the movie he had done, the ones in which his work was acclaimed and his character was noticed were Gadar Ek Prem Katha, Delhii Heights, Aitraaz, 36 China Town, Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye, Asa Nu Maan Watna Da, Dil Hai Tumara, Mini Punjab and Nalaik. Vivek had worked with famous comedian Jaspal Bhatti over the years and was greatly influenced by him.

Well, after some speculation the sources say that, after undergoing a liposuction operation in Thane, Viveks condition turned critical. He suffered a cardiac arrest on the 3rd of January and was admitted to Jupiter Hospital in Thane. He was on life support but slipped into a coma and could not be revived. On Monday, 10 January 2011 Shauq died from septicemia. His funeral was held on Tuesday, Janaury 11th 2011 at 4pm at Sant Nirankari Mission.
Vivek was also known face in the Ad world. He had done Ads for several brands such as HCL Computers, Vasmol, Nokia CDMA, Chlorates, and CP Plywood.

Bollywood mourns to the loss of such a great talent in the form of Vivek Shauq. Fans of the well-known comedian Vivek Shauq, who had acted in Hindi and Punjabi movies, mourned his death and organized a candle-light ceremony in his memory upon getting the shocking news of his demise on Monday. Vivek will always be remembered for his contribution towards Bollywood and various media wherein he has made someone somewhere smile and light up their day with his amazing wit and spot on comic timing.
