Fishing is a huge sport across the country, and the Pacific Northwest region, specifically Oregon, is a center of this activity, not only commercially but for sport as well. Television programs on Oregon fishing highlight the diversity of species found in the state's mighty rivers and along the coastline. - "Hawg Quest" bills itself as "the best darn outdoor fishing and hunting adventure show on television today, period!" The show focuses on Oregon fishing with such programs as "Astoria Sturgeon Hunt" and "Pink Ladies on the Sky." "Hawg Quest" airs at 8:30 a.m. Sunday and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday (PT) on FSN (Fox Sports Net) Northwest.
- KBSC Television (Channel 9 in Brookings, Oregon) produces "Fish Tales," a program centered on local fishing and focused "on the efforts by government and local volunteers to ensure the survival of our fish population." The program currently airs on Sunday at 10 a.m., Tuesday at 5 p.m., Wednesday at 10 a.m., Friday at 7 a.m. and Saturday at 5 a.m. (all PT). The schedule is on the station's website at kbsctv9.com.
- "Trev Gowdy's Monster Fish" on the Outdoor Channel searches high and low for large and unusual species of fish---including those to be found in Oregon. A recent program found monster white sturgeons on the Columbia River. The show airs currently on Thursdays at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. as well as Friday at 5:30 p.m. (both ET and PT).
