Rubber band tricks are a type of street magic. They are ideal for entertaining at parties or to relieve boredom. Using rubber bands is economical compared to those who purchase new toys or magic kits. Learning rubber band tricks are a great way to relieve stress. Since rubber bands are small, they may be hard to see within a large crowd. It is best to perform these tricks with a close group of friends or family members. - Place the rubber band over the first and second fingers of your left hand so that the rubber band is next to your left palm. Turn your hand, palm upwards, while lifting the rubber band with the right hand. Close all four of your fingers on your left hand and place them on the inside the loop of the rubber band. Snap the rubber band on the four fingers and turn your left hand over. As you snap the band, quickly take out your index and middle fingers. Once you straighten out all of your fingers on your left hand, the rubber band should then appear on your third and fourth fingers. Do not let anyone see you insert your fingers into the rubber band loop at any time. Instead, time it right so that when your hand is downwards, the rubber band can snap, and your fingers go into the loop.
- For this trick, you need a ring and a rubber band. Hold the rubber band between your two pinky fingers while having the ring “float” in the middle. Have someone assist you if you need help. Change your grip while keeping the ring on the band so that the band is around your thumb and index finger. Have your friend discreetly hold the rubber band as you slip your fingers into it. Show your audience the ring on the band by stretching the rubber band a few times. During the last stretch, put your fingers and thumb together, and slip your middle finger under the band while removing your index finger. Move your index finger near your thumb and stretch the rubber band while releasing your middle finger. Let the rubber band flick back. To your audience, it looks like the ring magically passed through the rubber band.
- Purchase a package of rubber bands at an office supply store. You can also save used ones from items such as grocery-store produce or floral shop flower bundles. Take five to ten rubber bands and squeeze them together. Wrap the rubber bands with a small and tight rubber band so that they stay together. This creates the center of your rubber band. Shape your rubber band ball by using small rubber bands. Wrap the rubber bands in different directions until it forms a spherical shape. Use the larger rubber bands as your ball grows. You can also use the wider version of the rubber bands, but make sure they are not too large or they may fall off. Continue shaping your rubber band ball until it is the size you want. Adding new rubber bands in different directions adds shape where the ball is not rounded. Once it is completed, use your rubber band ball to play catch, collect more rubber bands, or as a hand stress reliever.
