- 1). Turn off the light switch and circuit breaker for the globe light.
- 2). Set up an A-frame ladder beneath the fixture you will pull apart.
- 3). Secure the globe with one hand and undo the screws that hold the globe to the fixture with your other, using your fingers or a pair of pliers. Most globe lights have three screws that can be undone with your fingers.
- 4). Allow the globe to drop into your hand. If it sits atop the fixture, grab both sides and lift it up and off to pull the globe light apart. You might have to twist the globe back and forth to get it out of the fixture bracket.
