There is a misconception that some have when they are entering into the world of entrepreneurialism.
The misconception is that they are going to start their own company, be their own boss and, run and do everything themselves, thereby maximizing the profits of that business.
I truly believe we should get rid of the word solo because I do not think that in this world of so many dimensions and planes, we do anything; not even sleep, alone.
Yes similar to the realms that are mentioned in the book entitled, The Celestine Prophecy, I believe that there are other realms that we are not aware of or have no access to in our current state of being.
I do believe we can gain access to those realms but that is a topic for another article.
For right now, the concept of anything solo is one that should be questioned and addressed.
Once the new and possibly ill-informed entrepreneur realizes that there is very little they can do alone; the search for a mentor becomes a critical component of building a successful business.
I am sure there are plenty of articles about all the things that you need to know and do in order to start and run a successful business, but hat is not what I hope to address in this article.
What I do wish to make you, the hopeful new entrepreneur aware of is that I came to realize I needed someone to walk me through some of the paces on the road to success.
Of course, it is important to understand that everything you do toward your end goal involves a process.
The process of researching all the possible business mentors or coaches can seem as daunting as understanding all of the legalities of business ownership.
So, when I realized that I was truly going to need some guidance if I wanted my business to reach the vision that I had for it, I also came to realize that I had another hurdle to overcome.
I started looking around for business coaches, life coaches, mentors, etc.
There were more than I had realized because when I started as a life coach, it was not even an official career yet but, nonetheless, I was trained as a life coach.
Many coaches or mentors have defined a niche for themselves and many are business coaches helping new owners grow their business.
So, how did I go about narrowing down the field? First you must know that every page I reached on the internet required me to enter my name and email information.
At least that was so for the better known and truly successful business or life coaches so; my email inbox was quickly growing with regard to the influx of emails.
Offers to help came flooding in from the various coaches that I reached out to.
In addition to that, becoming more active in the arena of social media meant that I was opening myself up to receiving emails from those individuals who I followed or added to my networks and, who were business mentors or coaches.
It quickly became obvious that I needed to get quite clear on what I really wanted and needed in a coach and I created a list of the qualities that I wanted that coach to have.
I had participated in several free conference calls, teleseminars and found that there was one coach who stood out to me.
The thing about her that impacted me in a positive way was the way she handled her free teleseminar calls.
At the beginning of the call, she made a promise and then followed through.
She stated that she would make sure every caller's question was answered on that call and I stayed on until the very end of the call to get my question answered and to witness her follow through.
Yes, the call ran way over time but it was worth the wait.
That to me was a higher level of integrity than I had experienced anywhere else in business, especially from an online source.
That matched the level of integrity that I live by and as I could see myself being on a call until the very last question was answered just to ensure that I kept my word.
The level of quality in the product she offered and that I purchased was impeccable and the customer service was optimal.
My one coaching call with her was everything I had hoped it would be and more and she provided me with the level of clarity that I needed about my business and how to improve and progress to the next level.
the most important thing she provided me with was confirmation of my life purpose and that I was on the right track with regard to fulfilling on it.
