Can I Use a Vacuum Cleaner on Acoustical Foam Walls?
- Yes, you can use a vacuum cleaner to clean your acoustical foam walls but you must use the device's 1-inch or greater soft brush attachment instead of just the attachment hose. Using the attachment hose without the brush can damage the foam material. Also, do not remove the foam walls and vacuum the material directly with the machine's beater brush. Doing so will damage the foam material.
- Do not use soap, water, a pressure washer or any type of water-based cleaning solution to maintain your acoustical foam walls. Liquid cleaning solutions and high-pressure devices will damage the foam material as well as cardboard or other materials inside of the walls.
- If stains are present on your acoustical foam walls, apply a non-solvent based cleaning solution to a soft rag or cloth then blot the stain(s) until the debris is gone. Test the non-solvent based cleaning solution on a non-conspicuous area first before attempting to remove any stains or debris.
- After cleaning your acoustical foam walls, vacuum below the walls to remove any dust and dirt that may be present under the walls. Clean your acoustical foam walls monthly to keep any dust and debris from building up on the material.
