Duct Cleaners Review: Duct Mask
The one we will look at today is duct mask.
This product is basically a large adhesive saran wrap of sorts.
The question is is it up for the job.
In my days as an air duct cleaner I have used magnets, saran wrap, butcher paper and now duct mask.
These items are used to create a negative air flow back to your vacuum by sealing off every register opening.
In the past using different types of products you would always have some sort of a gap where airflow would leak.
Sure you might have suction but is it it the best suction that you can achieve.
The better the negative air flow is back to your vacuum the better air duct cleaning you are able to do therefore creating this seal is very important.
In my day to day business I have decided to use duct mask as a means to achieve negative air flow.
The beauty of this product is that it can be delivered in many different sizes the standard role is 200 feet long when completely stretched out.
The width of this tape or mask I should say is 8 inches.
You have the ability to break off sections every 4 inches with a well thought out perforation point at the same distance.
There is one aspect of the duct mask that still needs a little work.
When you adhere the tape to each register it will not damage the factory finish on any register we have found.
However, there is a strong chance that if the paint is relatively new the adhesive used may remove this paint.
The last thing you want to do and a customers house is remove their paint so please use caution and make sure the adhesive only contacts the register and not the surrounding walls.
Other than that I feel like this is a great addition to any air duct cleaners arsenal.
