How to Remove Window Blinds
- 1). Draw the blinds all the way up and lock them. Roll up the pull string. Tie it near the top so it's out of your way.
- 2). Locate the mounting brackets at each end of the top span of the blinds. If there is a small panel in front of the bracket to hide the mounting screws, slide the panel off.
- 3). Take out the screws that hold the blind assembly in the brackets, using a screwdriver. The screws might be at the bottom of the brackets or at the top. Pull the blind assembly forward to remove it. Set it aside.
- 4). Unscrew the screws holding the brackets to the wall. Remove the brackets.
- 5). Wipe wood putty into the screw holes left by the brackets, using your finger. Let the putty dry, according to the recommendations on the container.
- 6). Smooth the surface of the dried putty with your sandpaper. Paint the repaired areas.
