How to Add Wildcards to Block Email Addresses
- 1). Select "Tools" and "Organize" from the toolbar.
- 2). Select "Junk e-Mail" in the "Ways to Organize Inbox" task pane (above the email messages).
- 3). Press the "Turn on" button to enable the junk messages or adult content messages feature.
- 4). Select "click here" and "Edit Junk Senders" or "Edit Adult Contents Senders."
- 5). Click "Add" in the "Edit Junk Senders" or "Edit Adult Senders" dialog box.
- 6). Enter a wildcard in the "Sender" dialog box. To block all emails from a domain, type: "senders@*." To block all emails containing a specific name, type: "*@domain.com." To block part of the sender's name, such as the name, "sarahholland@spammer.com" type: "sa*@spammer.com."
- 7). Click "OK."
- 1). Select "Tools," "Message Rules" and "Blocked Senders List" from the toolbar.
- 2). Click "Add" in the "Message Rules" dialog box.
- 3). Type in the wildcard (see step six of the "Microsoft Outlook" section) you want to introduce.
- 4). Select "Mail messages" and click "OK" twice.
- 1). Log in to your account and select "Options" and "Mail Options" from the top, right section.
- 2). Select "Filter" from the left pane. Then click "Add Filter."
- 3). Enter a wildcard in the "sender" text field (see step six, "Microsoft Outlook" section).
- 4). Choose "Spam" for "Move to Folder" and click "Save Filters."
- 5). Go to the "Block Email Addresses" section. Then type a wildcard into the "Add a blocked address" text box and click "Add."
- 1). Log in to your account and select "Settings" from the top, right section.
- 2). Select the "Filters" tab and choose "Create a new filter."
- 3). Enter a wildcard in the "From" text field (see step six, "Microsoft Outlook" section).
- 4). Click "Next Step."
- 5). Checkmark "Delete it" and click "Create Filter."
