The chef is in! Prepare yourself to be enlightened.
Step 1 - Prepare Your Luscious Pork Of course you can not prepare the best back back ribs without first paying close attention to the preparation of your meat.
This step involves marinating your pork overnight.
Your friends and family deserve better than store bought marinade, so try this instead: 1.
Mix up some ketchup and barbecue sauce with a splash of Worcestershire 2.
Cover your pork with your concoction 3.
Sprinkle on some garlic, pepper and oregano 4.
Throw it all into a zip-loc bag and pour in some red wine 5.
Push out as much air as you can and throw it in the refrigerator overnight Step 2 - Prepare Your Tools So, you have the pork ready to go.
The next step is preparing your tool of barbecue -the grill.
The grill has fascinated mankind for centuries and now, it's time for you to use it to its fullest extent.
Are you ready? Here's my favorite way to set up a grill.
1.
Lay a cake pan full of water on the lower level of the grill, by the coals and light 'em up 2.
The meat goes bone side down over the cake pan and NOT over the coals 3.
Replace the cover of your grill Placing your pork over the water will keep your meat nice and juicy.
If you place them right over the coals, the outside of the meat could burn.
Burnt ribs are not a favorite among picnic goers.
Step 3 - Check On The Meat After about 45 minutes, you'll need to check on the ribs to see how they're doing.
It's also a good idea to switch the meat to a new position, so they grill evenly.
The temperature inside of the grill should be about 225 to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
Keep checking on the ribs and switching them around every 45 minutes.
About the third time that you check on them, stack them up on top of one another to keep 'em juicy.
The whole process should take around 5 hours.
About 4 and a half hours in you could apply your favorite glaze.
All you need to do now is just let them cool and enjoy! Always remember your chef's apron.
