- 1). Choose a junction box that is designed for your application. The number of connections you wish to make inside the box and its environment determine the box type. Your local hardware store can advise you on the correct one.
- 2). Find a location to mount the junction box. This is typically to a wall stud in a location that is always accessible. You cannot cover a junction box in dry wall.
- 3). Hold the junction box against the wood stud and fasten with two screws through its mounting holes and into the wood.
- 4). Place the cover on the junction box once you have completed making the connection. Secure in place with the two screws provided.
