  For the bridge welding certification, as a trained welder you are tested on a series of welds. The test is administered by the American Welding Society (AWS). The sign-up process is done online and the test completed at an accredited testing center. The examining official will review the weld you complete and issue a grade.
  
  

Use of Bridge Welding Certifications

• Bridge welding certifications are used by welders to receive membership to the AWS. Another use of the bridge welding certification is that the welder is able to progress in his career and apply for job roles such as a certified bridge welding supervisor. Membership in AWS provides discounts on welding tools and access to welding publications such as "Welding Journal."
