Studies show that dieting releases the hunger hormones all the more. You must be thinking how ridiculous that is. This is probably the reason people end up binging more than normal when they are on a supposed diet. The thought of dieting makes one feel that they have probably not eaten for long or not eaten enough. Also you may end up thinking that "Alright, diet begins tomorrow; let's eat as much as I can today". It becomes like some kind of a punishment to you, thinking that you may have to sacrifice every party, every delicious food and of course your sweet tooth. Hence the binging and the diet just get postponed day after day. Or some people on one hand, begin their diet, go on for a few days and give up. The theory is the same. They have the feeling of not having eaten anything or anything good enough for weeks. Many people also have a compulsive eating problem. Like some do drugs and alcohol, others eat. This condition can result in severe obesity. Having such a habit, it is extremely difficult to lose weight by normal means like exercise and diet alone. A compulsive eater will need to undergo a Gastrointestinal Bypass or any other kind of weight loss surgery. But, even this has to be done after a number of counseling sessions and a thorough assessment of the patient. This is so that he/ she may not return to another addiction or disorder to replace the eating one.
There are number of foods that are both healthy and tasty. The key to a healthy diet is eating everything in moderation and not just depriving yourself of everything. Most important is to eat at regular intervals so that you may not overeat after too many hours on an empty stomach. There are a number of foods that are both tasty and healthy. Let us have a look at them:
