Some Say the US is in Decay - They Always Claim this Calling the Economy the Abyss

Are you any better off than our parents were in 1979? Are things tougher in the US than ever before for the consumer? Recently, I noted that the Democrats running for President were able to get their debate re-run like 100 times on prime time TV, in fact every station is playing it over and over again.
Kudos to the public relations team of the Democrats, but all this doom and gloom is not really so.
In fact, things today in the US are much better than before and in 1979 one very popular book decry'ed the moral and economic decay of our nation.
Things are not as bad now as they were then, actually things are pretty good and the economy although slipping into a mild recession is not nearly as bad as some make it out to be.
I would like to recommend a book to you on this subject: "Restoring the American Dream" by Robert Ringer - 1979.
Many folks believe in their own cynical way that our nation is going downhill fast in a hand-basket, but people have been talking about such things for years the prior.
This book in 1979 tells a lot about the cycles and political thinking of the masses in our culture.
This is ever bit a social commentary on the US system, social structure and politics that surround our civilization.
Robert Ringer, has a great sense of humor on such a serious topic, indeed, he is a good read.
I also recommend his book; "Looking Out for # 1" After reading this book and understanding better the kinds of issues our nation faced back then it, seems that things now are very rosy and we ought to be thankful during this Thanksgiving season rather than acting like a nation of complainers.
Sincerely, Lance.
