Would you like to really heat up your fat burning efforts? There are some very special herbs and spices that can provide a huge boost in your metabolism.
Even if you do not like spices all that much you should take a look at this list.
Spicy foods stimulate metabolism even when you are adding a very subtle amount of spices to your regular diet.
  • Cayenne pepper.
    Many different peppers, including cayenne, have been proven to increase metabolism by as much as 25 percent and you don't need to have a large quantity to have success.
    Try mixing a small pinch here and there in soups, salads, mixed with mayonnaise or mustard.
    Of course, you can add fresh or dried peppers to sauces, salsa, mexican foods.
    An extra bonus is a more healthy digestive system.
  • Tumeric.
    Try this dried root spice in rice dishes, thai food dishes, grilled chicken sauce, relishes, baked cod and white fish, vegetable dips, vegetable based soups.
    This spice is known to increase metabolism, regulate glucose levels, improve digestive system, and it has anti-inflammatory properties as well.
  • Dried kelp.
    Kelp is from the seaweed family.
    In dried form it is used as a healthy salt substitute and can be used to enhance the flavor in endless food combinations.
    Kelp helps the body lose fat in at least 3 different ways - increases metabolism, helps in regulation of the thyroid gland, and it works like a suppressant from food cravings.
    Not bad.
  • Cinnamon.
    Who would guess this really flavorful spice could be used effectively for increased metabolism, lowering blood pressure and possibly even help prevent type 2 diabetes because of its powerful ability to increase the glucose metabolism to normal levels.
    Cinnamon is great to eat by the teaspoon.
    You can add it to tea or coffee, oatmeal, many baked goods recipes, hot or cold drinks.
    It's a fun spice to experiment with.
  • Green tea.
    Is there any health condition that green tea is not good for? Digestive system support, increased metabolism, and anti-oxidant properties.
    Try a hot green tea with fresh lemon and a hint of cinnamon in the morning for an energized morning and higher metabolism.
There are many foods that can help boost your metabolism, these spices just being a few.
