How to Troubleshoot a Modular Ice Maker

    • 1). Ensure the power cord of the module ice maker is still plugged into the power outlet. Obvious mistakes are sometimes the most common. Reinsert this cord back into the outlet, if necessary.

    • 2). Ensure that the ice has not built up within the ice maker's ice tray. Ice may begin to clump up and form into large blocks that cannot be dispensed, jamming the ice dispenser. Remove any blocks of ice and ensure that the ice level has not grown to the point where it may interfere with the metal bar at the top left of the refrigerator's tray.

    • 3). Check the orientation of the metal bar within the module ice maker's tray. This bar tells the machine whether to continue to produce ice or stop production altogether. The bar must be set into the "down" position for ice creation to occur normally. If the bar has been pushed up, use your hands to push it back down. The ice maker will begin to work again.
