How to Paint From Photoshop CS3
- 1). Import your image to Photoshop, and select "File," then "Open."
- 2). Choose the Brush tool or the Pencil tool from the toolbox. Select a brush shape and size to suit your preferences. Choose a foreground color from the Swatches panel.
- 3). Customize the paint settings. Select an opacity from one to 100 percent. A higher percentage results in a less transparent color. Select a flow from one to 100 percent. A higher percentage results in more color build up as you hold the cursor down over a specific area in your image.
- 4). Click and drag the cursor where you want to create a single stroke.
- 5). Paint over large areas of your image that are similar in color to the area you select. Select the Paint Bucket tool from the toolbox. Choose a foreground color from the Swatches panel.
- 6). Customize the paint settings. Select an opacity from one to 100 percent. Specify a tolerance for the color fill from zero to 255. A higher value results in a wider color range for the fill. Check "Anti-aliased" to smooth the edges of the fill.
- 7). Click on the area in your image that you want to fill. All adjacent pixels containing a color within the tolerance range will be filled with the new color. If your fill area is too large or too small, adjust the tolerance level accordingly and try again.
