How to Print Dates on Photos

    • 1). Open Paint, pull down the "File" menu and click "Open". Browse to a photo to add a date to on your computer and double-click the file name. The photo opens in the Paint workspace.

    • 2). Review the photo and determine the area of the image on which to print the date. More than likely, this will be in one of the corners. Check whether that area of the photo is dark or light colored.

    • 3). Select a color for the date from the "Color Picker" at the bottom of the screen. If you are printing a date in a dark area of the photo, choose a light color so it shows up. Select a dark color if you are printing in a light area.

    • 4). Click the "Text" tool, which looks like an "A" on the "Tools" palette on the left side of the screen. Click your cursor in the area for the date; if a text toolbar does not appear, pull down the "View" menu and click "Text Toolbar". Select a font, such as Times New Roman, and a point size. Type the date.

    • 5). Drag the date text box into place with your cursor.

    • 6). Save the file by clicking "File" and "Save As". Rename the file; never save it on top of the original in case you want to access the one without a date on it. Consider a version system such as "Cat" and "Cat-Dated" or "Cat" and "Cat1". Select a destination to save the photo on your computer and click "Save".
