How to File a Complaint at Work
- 1). Write or type down the complaint. Writing the complaint will help to get your thoughts and details in order. Keep the format of the complaint letter professional. Make sure to insert your name and department. Then insert the date. Address the complaint letter to your manager or other personnel who handles complaints.
- 2). Review your complaint. Check for grammar and spelling. Make sure the complaint is exactly what you want to say to your manager or other personnel. Double check the complaint is professional and to the point of the problem.
- 3). Make two copies of your complaint. File one copy of your complaint away for proof. Proof may be needed latter, specially in case of an unfair fire.
- 4). Sit down for a meeting with the manager or other personnel. Give the complaint letter to the manager or other personnel who is involved with complaints. Be prepared to talk about the problem with the manager or other personnel and possibly the cause of the problem.
