    • 1). Trace a 1-foot-by-1-foot square onto cardboard with a ruler and pencil. Using the ruler to keep the line straight, carefully cut out the shape with a razor knife.

    • 2). Sketch four perfect triangles onto the cardboard, 1-foot across at the base and 1-foot tall each. Carefully cut the triangles from the cardboard.

    • 3). Place the cardboard square on a flat surface to make a base for the pyramid part of your Egyptian centerpiece. Carefully glue the triangles together in a pyramid shape. Make sure the cardboard edges meet up evenly to create a perfect triangle shape. Do not glue the top tip of the pyramid closed. Let the glue dry completely.

    • 4). Coat the cardboard pyramid lightly with gold spray paint to create the focal point of the Egyptian centerpiece. Let the paint dry. Cover the pyramid with a second coat of paint. Let that dry. Keep covering the cardboard with layers of paint, letting each coat dry between applications, until the pyramid has a solid gold color.

    • 5). Place the gold cardboard pyramid in the center of a table to prepare the Egyptian centerpiece. Cut a white lotus flower stem 2 inches long. Gently slip the stem through the hole in the top of the pyramid to the base of the flower, so that the lotus petals seem to be blossoming from the tip of the pyramid.

    • 6). Cut the stems from four white lotus flowers. Tuck the bottom of a lotus under the middle of the base of one side of the pyramid. The flower should face outward so that the petals seem to burst from the base of the pyramid. Repeat the flower placement on each side of the pyramid.

    • 7). Tuck one end of a 1-inch thick, sheer gold wire ribbon under the lotus flower sticking out from the top of the cardboard pyramid. Gently loop the ribbon around the pyramid a few times so it gently cascades toward the bottom. Space the wrapping so that the ribbon ends right behind one of the lotus flowers at the bottom of the pyramid. Cut the ribbon and tuck the loose end behind the flower and under the pyramid.
