Are you tired of the rat race and in need of some independence? There is more to life than board meetings and forever trying to please your boss. And there is no shame in walking away from the comforts of a corporate lifestyle and going it alone. A bold new venture into starting up on your own would offer flexibility. The only person you'd be answering to is you. One question worth asking yourself is whether you are disciplined. Many of us are used to being given orders. But that drive and determination to succeed should be enough to not sleep through the alarm clock every morning. There will only be one person to blame for a disappointing balance sheet at the end of each month. Achieving a good work and life balance is a big challenge. But with hard work you could be reaping the rewards of a freelance careers. So why not take some time out and have a think about where you really want to be.
