How to lose a fat waist is a problem many people struggle with.
If only there was some magical way to instantly melt it all away! Well, there may not be any magical way to melt it all away, but there is a lot you can do about it.
With a little effort you can drastically improve your waist line.
You have to realize though that you have to accept your basic build and can only improve on it.
It is also not possible to spot reduce, so you will have to slim down throughout your body to lose fat waist.
Losing weight needs to be tackled from two sides:
  • A healthy balanced diet
  • Moderate exercise
This is the winning combination.
It is possible to lose weight without exercising, but exercise will speed things up and help to tighten those abdominal muscles, giving you that slimmer waist you are longing for.
A healthy balanced diet: Eating right is very important.
You have to eat enough to supply your body with the basics it needs to remain healthy.
No fad diet is going to give you any long term results! It is very important to learn to make healthy choices, both in what you eat, in which proportions you eat it and the way your food is prepared.
Keeping these in mind will ensure that you eat fewer calories a day and the slimming process will begin.
There is no need to count the calories; a few sensible changes will take care of that.
So, even though for how to lose weight, calories are still important, you will reduce it automatically with a few sensible choices.
Guidelines for a healthy diet: Always try and think of low fat and low sugar alternatives when you are making your food choices.
  1. Eat mostly low fat chicken and fish.
  2. Pig out on veggies, except the starchy veggies, of course.
  3. Cut down on carbs, but do not cut it out completely.
  4. Always try and go for the whole grain choices and remember that potatoes, sweet potatoes and peas count as a starch portion.
    So, do not eat too many of those.
  5. Even though fruit is healthy, they are full of sugar so you need to eat only three very small portions a day.
  6. Limit your dairy products to low - and fat free
  7. Cut down on all kinds of fat, such as oil, butter, margarine, mayonnaise etc.
  8. Drink lots of water, at least eight glasses a day
  9. Try and avoid sodas as they are really loaded with sugar
These are only a few pointers, there are very good diets available, that can really help you with an excellent eating plan.
Moderate exercise: To get rid of those extra pounds, moderate exercise is better than exercise that is too strenuous.
It has been proven that you burn the most in the 60% of your maximum heart beat zone.
So, do not be tempted to over do it, you will not be rewarded.
It is easy to work out your 60% zone.
Start with 220 - your age.
Say you are 25, then you take 220-25=195.
Now you get 60% of 195=117.
If you need to count it manually, all you do now is divide the 117 by 6 and you have the count for 10 seconds.
According to this, for burning fat, exercising at 20 hear beats every 10 seconds will be the best.
To get rid of fat waist, you will also have to do some stomach exercises and stretches.
Different exercises will appeal to different people and it will also have a different effect on each person.
Moderation is once again the answer here, do not over do it and hurt yourself, no good will come of it.
Build up slowly and increase as your fitness levels increase.
