Wedding Ideas for a Glow Theme
- Use decorations as the foundation of the glow-themed wedding. Place faux flowers that glow in the dark around the wedding location or walk down the aisle with them. If you prefer to use real flowers, tie glow-in-the-dark ribbon around your bouquet. Paint the wedding podium and guest chairs with glow in the dark paint. Use a glow-in-the-dark aisle runner. Use LED lights if glow paint or materials are unavailable. Place candles on tables or along aisles in a dim setting. Twinkle lights hanging on the wall will, likewise, create the illusion of stars glittering over your wedding.
- Add glow-in-the-dark accessories to your wedding ensemble. Glow-in-the-dark earrings, a bracelet and necklace illuminated with LED lights can add to the theme. Additionally, the groom can wear a glow-in-the-dark tie, cuff links and shoestrings. Consider adding glowing beads to the bride's dress and veil, or a glow-in-the-dark flower in her hair. Sew LED lights into the wedding gown, as well as the groom's tuxedo for a glow effect as you both walk down the aisle.
- Serve your guests glow in the dark food at your wedding reception. Add glow-in-the-dark decorations to the wedding cake, for instance. Alternatively, use glow-in-the-dark silverware and dishes. Use glow-in-the-dark tablecloths and napkins, as well. Place candles around the food service area and tables so that guests can view the food they are eating.
- With a glow-in-the-dark wedding, lighting use will be the primary consideration. Perhaps you will have the wedding in dim lighting or darkness for the entire duration of the ceremony. Alternatively, consider only walking down the aisle and back in the dark. You will also need to consider the convenience of the guests, as they may have problems locating their seats in the dark. Add lighting to the rows and aisles where your guests will sit.
