How Do I Roll Back Internet Explorer 7?
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Double-click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon in the Control Panel. If you have Windows Vista or 7, the icon is labeled "Program and Features."
- 2). Scroll down to the icon labeled "Windows Internet Explorer 7." The icons are alphabetically sorted, so it is one of the last programs listed.
- 3). Click the Windows Internet Explorer 7 icon and click the "Remove" button. For Windows 7 and Vista users, the button is labeled "Uninstall."
- 4). Click "Yes" at the confirmation screen to delete the software. It may take several minutes for the web browser to uninstall. After it's finished, the computer needs to reboot for the settings to take effect.
- 5). Verify that Internet Explorer version 6 is restored by clicking "Start," then "Run" and typing "iexplore" into the box. Click "OK." In Vista or Windows 7, click the "Start" orb and type "iexplore" in the search box. Once IE is running, click "Help," then "About Internet Explorer" to find the version number.
