The deficit facing the United States is on a runaway train to nowhere.
It is growing so fast that it may get so large in the future that America will not be able to fix.
The debt ceiling has been reached already.
The House of Representatives has already kicked the can down the road again regarding the debt ceiling.
They've agreed to raise it and allow the over spending until May.
The Senate should be voting in the upcoming days to temporarily extend that debt limit until budget can be worked out.
The United States has not run a balanced budget for four years.
It has been spending more than it takes in.
The Recession has caused much of the spending that has taken place over the last few years.
Democrats and Republicans have very different view regarding how to get the United States back to a balanced budget.
Republicans want to have drastic spending cuts to get a balanced budget, while Democrats are looking to slowly ease in spending cuts to help stabilize the economy and government.
No matter which side thinks is the best route to go, they better compromise otherwise America's future is on a path to doom.
The budget debate is going to be messy.
Congress can no longer kick the can down the road and let future Congresses to handle it.
The time is now.
The debates and changes have to be dealt with.
Because there has not been any budget deals, tax reforms, or entitlement reforms, on March 1st, automatic spending cuts are do to take place.
If the lack of deals continue, then government shutdowns could be on the horizon.
If shutdowns happen, this will cause many Americans to lose out on some daily services that they may rely on.
America has seen this coming for years and its people need to start to speak up and demand Congress start making the tough decisions to save America's future.
Former fed vice chairman, Alan Blinder, says that America can make some progress regarding its debt, but it will not be able to balance its budget.
The reason behind his thinking is due to the sky rocketing healthcare costs.
The study of the numbers do not lie.
The United States has an aging population.
Over the next decade or two, more people will be in the Medicare system.
Unemployment is still too high especially among younger people.
With these younger generations unemployed, there are no taxes being collected.
Instead, there are unemployment benefits being paid to these people.
People are working longer which is keeping some of the younger people out of the workforce.
This may not be a bad thing as it keeps many of them from collecting their full benefits of social security, Medicare, etc...
The President of the United States and his Congress have passed the Universal Healthcare law a.
k.
a.
Obama-care.
Obama-care is supposed to be good for the country and save the healthcare industry.
The law doesn't take place until next year.
So only time will tell if it will drastically help the overall healthcare system and be good for the country.
One thing that can be said for sure of Obama-care is that it will insure more people.
This will lead to more people going to the doctor.
Current doctors could end becoming specialized rather than staying in family practices.
Whatever happens, it will definitely have an impact on every American.
The time for America to stand up and face its problems now.
The time to get back to a budget is now.
The time to address entitlement reform is now.
America's future can no longer accept the can being kicked down the road!
