Princess Nursery Ideas
- For a princess bedroom, feminine colors such as pink and purple are the classic choices. Paint your walls in a base color, and add creative hand-painting or stenciling for accent points. You can paint scrolling lines around doorways and windows, and add princess crowns or even your baby's name in central points on the walls.
You can purchase items at a craft store to help you decorate the walls. Get wooden tiara cutouts and paint them, then hang them for wall art. You can also find decorative mirrors (every princess needs to see how beautiful she looks) and canvas art with princess themes. Consider other princess accessories from classic fairy tales, such as frog princes, apples and spinning wheels. You can hang pictures of these on your wall as well. - You can purchase princess-themed crib bedding in any baby store. Or you can simply purchase pink and purple bedding to go with your color scheme. You might consider adding a canopy over the bed for a real princess look.
- Purchase marabou feather boas at a craft store. You can use these to drape around the curtain rods or glue them around picture frames and lamp bases. You can find decorative crystal (or faux crystal) vases and dishes at a thrift store; use these to hold pacifiers, diaper creams, and other small objects. Purchase a royal throne for her to sit in; either a child-sized chair for baby or a rocking chair for Mom and Dad in a pink or purple color.
Pink and purple tulle fabric can be used to accessorize as well. Drape it around your changing table to make a tutu for it, or hang it from the walls to frame baby's crib. You can hang pink or purple holiday lights around the ceiling instead of a night light, or even paint a fairy godmother on the wall to watch over her (you can always just purchase a picture or poster with a fairy image on it).
