When writing articles either for online directories or for blogs, it's crucial that you always make use of enticing, unique, and clever titles as these will dictate the success of each of your articles.
When people search for some keywords using search engines like Google, they get hundreds or even thousands of articles on the page results.
These people will pick based on the title.
So, if yours are lousy, you can expect that your articles will be ignored.
This is something that you cannot afford to happen as that will mean putting all the effort and time you've spent writing these articles down to the drain.
Let me help you create amazing titles.
Here's what you need to do: 1.
Research and learn.
First, I would like you to go to top article marketing sites and get a list of most-read articles.
Notice how their titles were written; figure out the elements that were used and know what sets them apart from the rest.
Apply your observations when writing your own.
2.
Use keywords.
It's crucial that you always use the keywords that you're targeting on your title.
Based on personal experience, Google will most likely to show your articles on relevant search page results if you use the exact terms and phrases that your potential readers are using on this search engine.
3.
Make it descriptive.
Making your titles mysterious or confusing is something that will not work to your advantage.
You see, when people are choosing the articles to read, they ask this question "what's in it for me?" If you can't give them the answer that they're looking for, they'll most likely to go with other articles that can.
So, summarize your content and tell your readers exactly what's in store for them.
If you articles were written to help them solve their problems, make sure that you tell them that.
Also, ensure that you deliver what you've promised on your article body.
4.
Keep it short.
You would want to tell your readers what's in it for them without using so many words.
So, learn how to communicate your ideas using very few but compelling terms.
Ideally, your titles should not exceed 12-15 words.
It maybe difficult at first but with constant practice and by getting tips and guidance from the experts, I'm sure you'll be able to learn and even master this in no time.
5.
Make it powerful.
Keep in mind that your goal here is to get lots of online users to open your articles.
Based on experience, this will happen if your titles are thought provoking or if they're written to target emotional hot buttons.
Whenever possible, challenge common beliefs or make your target audience feel strong emotion.
If you can make them sad or if you can frighten them a bit, you can expect sudden boost in your open rate.
6.
Experiment.
I do not expect you to be able to write amazing titles after reading this article.
What you need to do after this is to do some exercises.
Write several titles for each of your articles then ask neutral third parties for feedback and comment.
See which of your proposed titles will give you the kind of results that you're looking for.
