How to Make a Rose Sock Corsage

    • 1). Place a baby sock flat on your work surface with the opening of the sock in front of you and the toe of the sock pointing away from you. If the cuff of the sock is folded over, unfold it first.

    • 2). Roll the toe of the sock toward the opening of the sock, until the entire sock is a rosebud-like tube. As you roll it, the edge of the sock creates layers, making it look like a rosebud. If you do not like the tightness or look of your rosebud as you are rolling, unroll it and start again.

    • 3). Place a piece of double-sided tape between the open end of the sock and the rolled tube to hold it in place while you finish forming the flower.

    • 4). Pull the bottom edge of the sock away from the rosebud. Fold it upward on the outside of the rosebud to create a new ridge along the bud.

    • 5). Remove the tape and reposition it to secure the folded-over cuff of the sock. This holds the rosebud in place.

    • 6). Cut 4-inch-long piece of florist's wire with wire nippers.

    • 7). Insert one end of the florist's wire into the bottom center of the rosebud. Push the wire as far as it will go inside the rosebud.

    • 8). Wrap your florist's wire in florist's tape. To make the tape stick to itself, pull it tightly, stretching it as you wrap. Start the wrapping at the bottom of the sock rosebud and continue down to the end of the wire. Overlap the florist tape as you wrap.

    • 9). Repeat the entire procedure two more times, until you have three roses.

Gather the wire-covered stems together and arrange the placement of the rose buds into a configuration you like.

Twist the wires together to hold them in place and then wrap them in florist's tape.

Tie a 6-inch-long piece of 1/4-inch-wide ribbon around the stems to finish the corsage.
