How to Repair a Sony PSP-3000 Screen

    • 1). Turn the PSP off and slide the battery door off the rear of the unit. Remove the battery and set it aside.

    • 2). Remove the two screws on the top of the PSP, the two screws on the bottom of the PSP and the two screws inside the battery compartment.

    • 3). Use your fingers to gently pry the front plastic faceplate off the unit. Set it aside.

    • 4). Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop the button bar off the unit. The button bar is mounted directly below the screen.

    • 5). Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop the metal clips around the LCD screen. Lift the screen up to expose the orange screen cable connected to the circuit board underneath.

    • 6). Check the screen cable to make sure it is plugged securely in its port. If it isn't, unplug it and plug it back in, making sure it is secure. Reverse the steps for reassembly.
