If charm and romance are on the top of your mind when planning your wedding, what would more quickly come to mind than the southern USA?  Full of romance and exuding charm, we could not think of a better region to choose for your special day with family and friends.  A southern wedding would promise to be one of your most treasured memories.  Georgia, South Carolina and Florida are three of the favorite states for weddings.

Georgia Weddings

If you want to go to the cultural center of Georgia, one of our favorites, for an Atlanta wedding venue, is Zoo Atlanta - especially if there are any children involved.  On your special day, you can even include a private encounter with an animal.  How cool is that!  And the guests have something fun to do, without your having to do anything in preparation!   You can purchase the "Zoo Nuptials" program, which includes all you need for the wedding.

Another of our favorites for an Atlanta wedding venue is CatorWoolfordGardens.  This venue is located at the FrazierCenter in Druid Hills, and is a beautiful space, with many flowers and beautiful landscaping, on 33 acres. (As an extra added bonus, if you use this wedding spot, you will be contributing to rehabilitation of people with disabilities, as the FrazierCenter is a non-profit with this mission.).  The Atlanta wedding hall for rent available at this venue would be either the garden house (Italian style, 100 yr. old), or the Atrium.

But if you want to stay out of the big city, you cannot go wrong with choosing a Savannah wedding venue.  In this beautiful historic town, you can choose from carriage rides in ForsythPark to a cruise at sunset or kayaking.  Savannah is a very special city.

South Carolina Wedding

Low Country or Up Country, South Carolina is a very popular and loved state for weddings.  Most popular in the low country are those venues near and around Charleston.  Many couples enjoy surfing, offshore fishing, or swimming, at one of the many beautiful beaches -- like Isle of Palms, or Sullivan's Island.  And don't forget Hilton Head Island, which has 12 miles of beaches!, and would also offer opportunities for playing golf or riding horses!  If you want to go upcountry, the cities of Anderson or Greenville, have wonderful waterfalls, and a well known river for whitewater rafting, the Chatooga.  If you decide to go this route, you would definitely want to check out the GassawayMansion, in Greenville, which offers very attractive wedding packages, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Florida Weddings

Florida is in a category of itself for southern weddings, as it is one of the most popular "destination wedding" locations.  There is a whole industry in Florida for weddings, catering to all types of weddings, including couples who elope, and inexpensive beach weddings to grand resort weddings.  If planning a Florida wedding, it is very important to be aware of the hurricane season, which starts June 1, and ends around November 30.

If you are planning an elopement, charming bed and breakfast venues abound, like the Augustin Inn, in St. Augustine, in the city's historic district. If you want something inexpensive, Miami beaches are very popular, where you can find anything you need, according to your budget.  The AlexanderHotel, in Miami, is an all time favorite for grand resort weddings.  Or if you like boats, in Clearwater, you can get married on a riverboat.  Florida just can't be beat for diversity and uniqueness in wedding experiences available.
