    • 1). Open the video conversion software and select the "Add Files" tab.

    • 2). Select the MTS clip files you wish to convert using the program's "Browse" function. Selected files will be added to the program's list of files to be converted.

    • 3). Select each clip file in turn and inspect it in the program's "Preview" window. This will confirm whether or not the clip can be processed by the application. Remove any unwanted clips from your list.

    • 4). Choose your preferred "Export Profile" by browsing through the list of available options and select that which matches the requirement of your editing program or end use. For HD (High-Definition) video, choose either 1280 by 720 or 1920 by 1080 pixels, and select the frame rate that matches your source clips (such as 30fps or 25 fps). Decide whether your clip files are to be 60i (60 interlaced frames) or 30p (30 progressive frames) per second.

    • 5). Choose the location on your computer where the converted files are to be saved by accepting either the default folder or a folder of your choosing.

    • 6). Click "Convert" or "Process" to initiate the conversion. When this is complete, inspect the exported files to ensure that they meet with your requirements. Adjust your settings and repeat if necessary.
