- 1). Use your Lone Star Card to purchase groceries. Know when Texas adds benefits to your Lone Star Card. Texas uses the last digit in your case number and distributes benefits on odd days, from the first to the 15th of each month. If the last digit of your case number is 0, Texas adds SNAP benefits on the first day of the month. If the last digit is 1, SNAP benefits appear on the third of the month.
- 2). Review the grocery receipt issued at the store. This receipt displays your current total benefits remaining. If you receive Temporary Aid to Needy Families benefits, you may use these for food purchases. Texas adds all TANF benefits to Lone Star cards the first three days of each month.
- 3). Call 800-777-7328 if you lost your last receipt and do not know your balance.
