Conference Call Set Up - What is Involved?
The set up will also depend on what mode of you select.
There are a different types of conference calls and I will discuss briefly the common ones here.
One of the easiest and most common services is known as the reservationless conference call.
This is probably the easiest one for your service provider to set up for you and requires no additional equipment other than your normal phone.
This service consists of having a number provided to your by the service provider along with an access code.
You dial the number and enter the access code when prompted and you will be on the conference call with anyone else who has been given the number and access code.
A step up from this service is an operator assisted conference call.
Basically, the operator is on hand to offer additional services such as reconnecting the call if someone loses connection, recording the meeting if needed and basically keeping an eye on the conference to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Because there is another human with this service, having an operator will cost a little extra.
It may also take a little longer to arrange depending on the staffing levels of the company which are providing the services.
And if needed, the operator can call each individual involved with the tele conference and bring them in.
This is a good option as it makes it easy for any one who is unsure of how to access the conference.
It also adds a touch of professionalism if you are looking to impress the other participants of the conference.
At the other end of the scale, you can go more advanced with the use of web conferences.
These conferences include the use of video so you can see the others face to face.
As you can imagine, there will need to be some additional equipment needed and someone knowledgeable to help set up the software and equipment, or someone from the service provider talking you through the set up on the phone.
As you can see, a conference call set up will vary in difficulty depending on your needs.
If you are unsure of what to do, just be sure that you have a good technical support team at your work place or service provider.
