Writing can be a fantastic career, but for beginner writers it can be far from lucrative.
If you really want to be a good writer, one whose work pays well, here are three important tips for beginner writers that you should not ignore.
First, write well.
Perhaps that is self-explanatory, but it needs to be stated.
Do NOT ignore grammar rules, and be sure to do your editing.
Rough writing grates on an educated reader like finger-nails on a chalkboard.
If you don't know your "theirs" from your "theres", or how to use a semi-colon, then LEARN.
Second, consider the structure of your writing.
Each article should have a beginning, a middle, and an end.
You need to guide your reader through what you have to tell them.
Introduce your topic with a killer catch line, teach away, and then summarize and conclude with style.
Don't leave your readers hanging, but give them a desire to know more about your topic.
Third, aim high.
There are many writing jobs online that offer a very low pay.
You may be thinking that writing articles for a dollar or two each is a way to get your name out there, or a way to practice your writing skills.
There is something to be said for that, but way too often writers get stuck in a low paying rut.
They keep writing madly in order to "make that extra cash".
But, they don't realize that they could be spending their precious writing time earning far more money.
If you ignore these three points, you will quickly find yourself disillusioned with your writing career.
Your viewership will be suffer, you will face many rejections from publishers, and you will not earn the kind of money you would desire.
If you follow them, however, your dreams of being a writer will come true "beyond your wildest dreams"!
