- 1). Press "Start" on your controller and select "Leaky Cauldron" if you're currently in Hogwarts. When you first load a saved game, you begin at the Leaky Cauldron already.
- 2). Stand on the golden square in front of the billboard located at the back of the Leaky Cauldron to view a list of already completed levels.
- 3). Select a level followed by "Free Play." Select your character from the character selection screen. The game automatically adds additional characters for you to play as if the level requires their abilities.
- 4). Press the "Character Change" button to cycle between characters while in the level.
- 5). Navigate through the level using each character's abilities to solve the puzzles in the environment. For example, black objects can only be manipulated by a character who can wield dark magic, such as Voldemort. Often, these puzzles reward crest pieces.
- 6). Press "Start" to view which pieces of the crest you have obtained in the bottom right corner. Select "Save and Exit" once you have obtained all four pieces of the crest to be awarded with a gold brick.
