    • 1). Cut a circle of fabric 4 inches wider than the seat of the stool. Place it right side down on a flat surface.

    • 2). Take the legs off the stool. Place the seat right side down in the center of the fabric circle.

    • 3). Pull one side of the fabric up around the side of the seat and staple it to the bottom of the seat. Staple halfway between the edge of the fabric and the edge of the seat.

    • 4). Pull the fabric on the opposite side of the seat up tightly and staple it in the same way.

    • 5). Staple the edges of the fabric half way between the first two staples in the same way. Pull the fabric as tight as you can each time you staple it.

    • 6). Staple the fabric halfway between each of the first four staples. Pull the fabric tightly each time. You may have to remove some of the first few staples, if the fabric is too loose at those points after more staples have been added.

    • 7). Fold the fabric between the staples into tiny pleats to create smooth edges around the circle. Staple the pleats in place and reattach the legs.
