  A pastor's aid ministry serves to financially, morally and spiritually assist the pastor in his or her ministry. Some of the ministry's duties include praying for the pastor and his family, delivering sermons in his absence, raising funds for the church's special outreach activities and church maintenance and assisting with the planning of church events. The aid ministry is important to the pastor because it's their support that relieves his burdens when the job gets tough.
  
  

Fundraising

• The pastor's aid ministry helps the pastor obtain funds for the church through fundraising events. The pastor may decide to build an after-school community center that will take a lot of funding. The pastor's aid ministry could hold fundraising events throughout the year, such as bake sales, school supply sales, trips to the bowling alley or skating ring for a fee and book fairs where the community and church members would purchase items there. In some cases, the aid ministry may seek grants from non-profit organizations.
  
  

Helps with Emotional Needs

• In times when the pastor is sick or if he experienced a death in the family, the pastor's aid ministry often visits him to offer emotional support. • Particularly during the pastor's anniversary of being at a certain church, the pastor's aid ministry often plans an anniversary event in his honor. They seek out the assistance of church members with various talents to assist in the preparation process. For example, some church members who are graphic designers may be asked to design the packets while other members could be asked to prepare meals.
