How to Hang Church Lights
- 1). Design your plan. Decide whether your church will require emphasis on stage lighting alone or if plans will encompass the parishioner seating area in an emphasized way. This determination will greatly influence how you proceed in hanging lights.
- 2). Build ample light fixtures in different positions. Some churches lose money by being conservative on their initial lighting designs, only to realize later that expansion is necessary and another round of mounting must take place. Mounting numerous light fixtures for stage and audience lighting prepares your church for the advance possibility of requiring more lights and power--without demanding another round of construction.
- 3). Connect your lights to ddigital multiplex, or DMX, channeling system. The DMX system operates via a central command control device on more than 500 channels. DMX lighting can adjust tints, fades and brightness of all hanging lights -- no matter how large the design -- to accommodate church plays, choir performances or guest presentations.
