Does God Exist? - Rida Ali
There are answers for all of those. To start off with, here is a short story explaining why there is pain and suffering at all.
One day a man went to the barber shop for a hair cut. As the barber began to work, they started up a conversation. As they talked, the subject eventually came around to religion.
"I don't believe in God," the barber said.
"Why is that?" the man asked.
"Well, if God exists, why are there so many sick people? Why are there abandoned children in the world. I cannot imagine a loving God who would allow such things," the barber exclaimed.
The customer thought for a minute, but chose not to respond and left the shop as soon as his hair was cut. As he left the shop, he saw a man with dirty long hair and an untrimmed beard just outside. He re-entered the shop.
"You know what?" he said. "Barber's don't exist."
"What are you saying?" the barber exclaimed. "I am here, and I just worked on you!"
"No," the man said. "If you truly did exist, there would be no people with long unkemp hair and scaggly beards, like that man outside.Â
"Ahh..." the barber said. "That's what happens when peole don't come to me."
"Exactly! God exists, and that's what happens when people don't come to him and look to him for help.
Remember, God only gives you the burden(s) that you have enough strength to carry.
 Now for Question number 2:
There once was a man who went overseas to study for a long time. Upon his return, he asked his parents to find him some one who could answer his 3 questions. After much searching, his parents found a religious scholar.
"Does God exist? If so, show me his shape. What is fate? If both Satan and hell were created from fire, why would he be thrown in there at the end? SUrely it would not hurt him," the man said.
Hearing this, the scholar slapped the man very hard. He felt pain, a stinging senseation. He asked, "Why do you get angry at me?"
"I'm not angry, " scholar answered. "This is my answer to your questions."
"I'm afraid I don't understand," the man admitted.
"How did you feel after I hit you?"
"In pain, of course."
"So you believe in pain?"
"Yes."
"Then," the scholar said. "Show me the shape of the pain."
"I can't," the man said.
"See? All of us can feel God's existence without havong to see it. Now, did you dream last night that I would slap you today? Did you ever think you would get a slap from me today," the scholar asked.
"No."
"That is fate. And for your 3rd question... the hand that I slapped you with, what is it made of?"
"Flesh."
"What is your face made of?"
"Flesh."
"How did you feel after I slapped you?"
"In pain," the man answered.
"See? Even though both Satan and hell are made of fire, if God wishes it, hell will be a very painful place for him," the scholar replied.
Why does it matter which religion you choose to believe in? (if at all)
Pretend you work for Company A. You put a lot of effort in and even work overtime. Then, at the end of the week/month, you go to Company B and ask for your paycheck. The owner knows you worked hard, but you didn't work for him/her, so why should they pay you? You prayed, fasted, ect your whole life, believing in one religion, but when you die, does that lifetime of worship even count?
People do ask so many questions. In my oppinion, all of this modern science is just stupid, even though stuff like the internet, advances in medical technology, and other things of that nature are usually good. No, I'm talking more about theories. People spend their whole lives asking useless questions and then when they finally find the answer-or think they do- they drop that like a red-hot iron and start chasing something else.
It's like if a person on a death sentence is asking what day he'll be killed, who is killing them, what intsrument/tool will be used, what will the weather be like, how many other people are being hanged that day and what are their crimes, and all sorts of useless questions like that, and they barely manage to distract you form the real truth: he the order has been given, he will be killed, and there's no changing that anymore. It 's just plain stubborness, ignorance, or tenacity for lack of a better word that makes them do this.   Â
