The Farming Types
Irrigation farming refers to the water farming in general. Its characteristic is to satisfy the plants' needs towards water through irrigation measures, adjust the earth temperature, moisture and soil air, nutrient so as to improve the land productivity; it's high and stable yields farming. Another one refers to the farming that in the arid and semiarid with bare rainfall that rely on the irrigation completely. This kind of farming distributes in our countries's flat area and hill slopes widely. With the technological development, it also stretches to the west ceaselessly.
The farming developed in the river valley area called river valley farming. The valley area of High Mountain is quite suit for cultivation, since its terrain is lower than the hilly area, the temperature was quite high, frost-free season is longer than the hilly area, the rainfall conditions is quite well and river water can be the irrigation water source. Moreover, there are usually forests in the mountain ridge between the river valleys, this made the humus in valley soil quite abundant. For instance, the Yellow River Valley and Huang River Valley of Qinhai Province in China both are typical valley farming area; they are the main farming area of Qinhai Province.
