How to Convert CSV to QIF for Mac

    • 1). Locate or download a copy of the CSV file you wish to convert.

    • 2). Download and install XL2QIF, an excel add-in macro available free of charge (see Resources). Save the compressed zip file linked from the XL2QIF site to your computer and decompress it. Double-click on "install.xls" to install the macro to your default Excel add-ins directory. Consult the XL2QIF manual in case of complications.

    • 3). Open Excel and choose the import item from the "File" menu on the menu bar at the top of your screen. Select "CSV" on the following screen and locate your specific CSV file.

    • 4). Highlight the fields in your CSV file that contain data you wish to import into Quicken.

    • 5). Open the "XL2QIF" menu from the menu bar in Excel. Select the option to "Save to QIF" and choose a name for your output. Select the check boxes next to the fields that are included in your data in the order that they appear. Consult the XL2QIF manual for more exhaustive instructions for these options.
